We love how the grill lights so easily with no matches required, and the fact that it runs on propane canisters makes it very portable. I bought this grill for my husband for father's day. Having all the different ways to use it is amazing.
I need to try the Pam for Grilling, maybe that would help solve this problem (once I can get them clean enough). I realize it is a grill and it will likely have some stuck on black stuff but going from the shiny new black to burnt on stuff that I couldn't soak off even overnight was disappointing.;(Overall we LOVE IT. Also the grill grates portion seem hard to clean, everything gets burned onto them, I am thinking I will have to use oven cleaner on them to get it off, using a brush works to some degree. I wish the shelves where a little thicker and stronger plastic as well, they seem a little flimsy IMO.
It came with the two grill pieces then we bought two stove grates, the large 1 piece griddle, and the carrying bag. We heeded other reviews that talk about cooking on lower heats with this grill and haven't had any issues, everything tastes great and is cooked to perfection. Some of the things we found that are a downfall with this product are that in order to fit into the bag you have to take the handle/leg off, easy to get on and off BUT it can be awkward trying to do it with one person. He loves it, the whole family enjoys it. We have yet to use a whole little can of propane and we've used it at least 6 times.
I highly recommend the larger griddle, it cooks evenly and such a snap to clean up. We no longer have to take our camp stove and old small BBQ with us camping, this is it all in one. I am really glad we listened to other reviews about buying the bag, it makes it so much easier.
FYI, don't forget to lock the top before standing it upright. Went to Menard's and picked up an adapter for my 20 gal tank for $15.99. CONS: You can only tilt the grill at an 35ish degree angle when pulling on wheels. PROS: Started by looking at Webers, then figured I'd have to buy the Weber Grill and the stand because I'd almost always want to use it on the stand. When standing it upright, it has to rest on the one side handle which makes it vulnerable to tipping. The grill is pretty light and the wheels are a great feature. My concerns about it getting hot enough were put to rest after the first use. Love that the side trays slide in when you put the grill away, and I'm thinking about getting the flat top adapter for camping.
There are plenty of accessories. We love it.
I especially like the accessories. We love the drainage system, we love the compactness, we love the heat it produces, we love hamburgers in 10 minutes, and we love it all.
This is the right grill for camping. It feels a bit cheap for sure on the slide out tables and solid plastic wheels but I know they had to balance weight/materials with price.
Complaints are again some cheap feeling parts and that sometimes the folding/unfolding isn't as easy as it should be. It has a spacious cooking area.
The grill can be easily wheeled.
We were worried that it would be too small and take forever to barbecue for our family but that little thing surprised everyone. This is a really good product overall. The design of the grill makes it very convenient to pack and transport and it actually cooks a lot of food.
The lid doesn't lock down either - there is a latch but it is so loose it flops back and forth.A sharp looking grill, but my old Colman two burner camp stove and folding camp cook table are more useful, easier to set up, and easier stow. This works better if you buy the wire grates and use it like a gas stove. It's heavy, setup and teardown are not that easy and are best done with two people - it has a tendency to collapse into a noisy heap during setup/teardown or if you try to move it after set up since the legs don't lock in to place when it's raised. I've owned this grill for over a year now and had plenty of opportunity to use it, my conclusion: Don't confuse this with a barbecue grill. Despite the pictures used in the advertising, it doesn't work well for hot dogs, hamburgers, or steak - a ten dollar charcoal pan will produce a taster meal, be easier to clean up, easier to store, and cost way less money.
